Paint is a wonderful medium, whether it’s the transparent blends of watercolor, the buttery feel of oil, or the textures built from acrylic. The tactile pleasures of working with paint are, in my mind, incomparable.  On the other hand, whether it’s water, linseed oil, or turpentine. one can’t get away from the fact that painting wet is messy, needs set-up and clean-up time, and requires space.

Sans-colle Aristry is a colorful, versatile, & very satisfying alternative. (Sans-colle - “without glue”, in French)

The swatches of color are actual paintings I have done on a special paper "canvas" that has a sticky backing. After the paint has dried, I prepare the swatches so they can be easily cut up and pieced, layered, or similarly assembled to form one’s own art composition. Without the need for messy glue,  this art form is environmentally clean, economical, and versatile. The artist chooses his or her colors, the shapes can be intricate or broad, and once the non-stick backing is removed, it is simple to stick them onto whatever surface one chooses.

I currently create custom sets of Sans-colle Art for a variety of uses— parties...workshops...corporate brainstorming sessions....therapeutic art programs, to name a few.
